Everything We Know About Jade Thirlwall's Solo Career (So Far)

Ever since Little Mix announced their hiatus in 2021, rumours have run wild about which record label each member of the group might sign to. And it looks like Jade Thirlwall chose to stick with familiar territory after the songstress penned a deal with RCA Records last year.

Little Mix originally signed to RCA Records UK in 2018 after parting ways with Simon Cowell’s label, Syco Music.

Now Sony Music have announced in a press release: “Jade Thirlwall, founding member of the multi-platinum selling British group Little Mix, has signed a solo worldwide record deal with RCA Records. RCA’s UK and US teams will work in partnership to develop her solo career.”

One insider explained: “Jade has had talks with several different labels, but she knows the team at RCA personally and is confident they understand what she wants for the next phase of her career.”

Sony Music also went on to confirm that Jade has signed with Full Stop Management for "worldwide representation”. The management firm boasts a roster of big name stars such as Harry Styles and Lizzo.

Discussing the deal, a source revealed: “'[Full Stop] think she is going to be a huge star, just like Harry has become after One Direction went on hiatus.

“Jade has bags of ideas for her solo music and she's already recorded some amazing songs that have impressed industry bosses. As well as music, she is putting plans into motion for more TV appearances and there is no doubt she can become a mega-star in her own right.

“Jade is still incredibly close with her Little Mix bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards and they're all supporting each other's moves behind the scenes. It's going to be a really exciting time for all three of them.”

We've already seen Jade hard at work in LA, meeting with her American management team and collaborating with big writers and producers from the pop world – including Johnny Goldstein, Sarah Hudson, Jesse Saint John and JHart. And much like her Full Stop sister Lizzo, it’s been rumoured that she will be dropping her surname and simply going by ‘Jade’ moving forward.

Not only that, but as Jade and Lizzo share a manager, there have allegedly “been talks about trying to get them in the studio together”, as they “are both great songwriters with a similar viewpoint”.

Jade has also been pictured working with Jax Jones, Tove Lo and RAYE.

So when will we hear new music?

When asked this question by a fan on social media, Jade cheekily teased: “A fandom’s favourite word: sOoN”. A source explained to The Sun: “The stakes are massive. Jade has what it takes to become a huge star. It would be foolish to rush-release some half-hearted track. Jade has been in the studio a lot but at the moment it’s about planning for the future while enjoying a break following her 11 years in Little Mix.”

Despite this, Jade has been continuing to write for other artists as well as herself, with her latest credit being on K-pop icon NAYEON’s track ‘Candyfloss’.

Meanwhile, drag queen DJ Jodie Harsh revealed: "I did some songwriting sessions recently with Jade. It's all half-finished stuff at the moment. It's just some ideas. I don't know whether it would be for her, for me, for other artists, or for other artists to sing for me."

And Jade’s involvement with music doesn’t stop there, with the star quietly registering a production company named Badwi Productions Limited last year. It will be involved with sound recording and music publishing activities.

It's not just the music world that Jade apparently has her eye on, though. We may even see her swapping recording studios for the iconic TARDIS soon, if there's any truth to the rumours that she’ll have a recurring role on Season 14 of Doctor Who.

Doctor Who? More like Doctor Who-Would-Have-Seen-That-Coming?!

It certainly looks like Jade is ready to dominate every industry (and perhaps even the galaxy!) – and I, for one, can't wait to see what she does next.
